A beautiful art-deco building, the Viking Gallery showcases the art of local, international, emerging and established artists.
Just a short walk from the seafront and local attractions including the Turner Contemporary.
In an earlier life the building was used as a Turkish Bath and the old iron furnace with its red frontage has been retained to remind us of the history of the building.
Owned by Pamela Price; one of London’s first female minicab drivers, a cordon bleu chef running a catering business on a Thames pleasure boat in the heady days of the sixties, and now art patron of the Viking Gallery. Pamela Price has headed up a succession of highly successful ventures, and now brings her considerable entrepreneurial prowess to the Viking Gallery in Margate’s up-and-coming Cliftonville area. Her connection to Thanet goes back to her great uncle’s 1930s holiday footage of the area.
