Weaving Summer is a 40x40x1,5 inches, large, semi abstract oil on canvas of a summer meadow with swallows. The painting is abstract, contemporary, art nouveau in style and was inspired by sitting in a meadow in Forest Row watching swallows swooping over the wildflowers of this Sussex field. I imagined the swallows were weaving some kind of summer enchantment as they maneuvered around each other and that is why I named it Weaving Summer. Nature performs and the swallows are her little magicians. The painting was created in layers - the first being blurred and blended to give an out of focus look. The next layers are more detailed and hint at wildflowers, buttercups, daisies, clover and long grasses together with the birds who are leaving trails of gold behind them as part of their spell. Summer in England does not last as long as we would like but it is stunningly beautiful and I never tire of walking in fields and painting my impressions of what I see. The painting is ready to hang and has white wide edges so no frame is not needed. See VIDEO: https://youtu.be/5Ml_NXoZyj0

For a better view, you can use a frame suitable for your interior and the picture itself. Turning to the workshop that is in your city, you can choose the best frame of your choice. I carefully coat all my works with varnish in order to give glossiness and enhance the saturation of work. Thus the work becomes more resistant to sunlight, water and mechanical damage. Caring for such works is quite simple. It is enough to take a soft cloth, wet and wash the work without strong pressure. Painting and objects of art is one of the most durable things in the world and for decades the work of varnished remains unchanged.

Between Worlds is 48x48x1.5 inches art nouveau style large oil painting of a stag and three deer in a Sussex bluebell wood with a lake and trees behind. This painting was inspired by walking through a lot of spring woods and spotting a lot of deer in them - especially during April and May in England. It is called between the worlds as the deer sometimes seem to me to stand between the physical and the material worlds. A group of white deer and a stag stand to the left in a woodland glade blinking in and out of existence. The colours match bluebells and other woodland flowers and the trees are bright green as they are in springtime. To the right there is a lake in the clearing and the hint of another path through the forest beyond. The idea I was trying to capture is the elusive nature of deer and of bluebell season. One minute deer are there watching you, the next they flash their white behind's at you and disappear. I love to see the seasons reflected in English woodland and like to capture a glimpse of April in particular. This is a very large canvas and does not need a frame. The edges are white and it is ready to hang.
  • Equine Dreaming is 44x54 inches large, framed red painting of two black Arabian horses, abstract style, in a poppy field. This painting was originally painted to show me as a little girl in a poppy field dreaming of the two horses I would one day own. Unfortunately I grew up allergic to horses so this never happened. Instead, I painted them. Recently I made the painting more abstract and added a red background. You can still see a suggestion of poppies and green fields, hills and trees beyond the two back horses and you can still see a little girl in a yellow dress picking poppies and dreaming of horses. I chose red simply because it works well with black and is the complement to green which was the original background colour. The painting is framed in a metallic burnished copper and silver frame, two inches wide and 1.5 inches deep. The shine works beautifully with the shine of the two horses and the radiant red background. See video at: https://youtu.be/Qy5AHbu9kX0

Elusive-2 is a 36x48 inches large original oil on canvas of an autumn forest clearing with deer. The painting shows a stag and a doe blinking in and out of existence in a clearing in an autumn forest. The trees lead you into the painting and the deer wait in the misty clearing to transport you elsewhere. Deer are seen as messengers or spirit guides in many cultures and I do find them ethereal and very beautiful. I have no idea how people can shoot them. This painting is another in another in a series of large forest landscape deer paintings that are a tribute to the beautiful landscapes of Sussex, especially around the Ashdown Forest and the elusive deer that inhabit them. Deer have a magical way of appearing and then vanishing in the blink of an eye. It always takes my breath away when I come across them in a forest. This painting is atmospheric, abstract, art nouveau, expressionist, in style. It has deep edges, white, and is ready to hang. See video at: https://youtu.be/cjktPAEkI04

  • Emerging is a large 40x40x1.5 inches oil on canvas painting of a stag and doe in an autumn forest in art nouveau, impasto, semi abstract style. A large deer stag stands on the left in the foreground looking imperiously at us as stags do, and a doe stands behind him ready to run. Behind them is a forest of pine and birch trees with thick white light hinted at coming through the trees which halo around the deer To the right is the edge of a forest that is morphing into a curtain. I love the idea of stepping out of forests into other worlds entirely and feel that may be what is happening here. I have deliberately left it ambiguous as to what is occurring and I have abstracted the painting by being very detailed in some parts of it and leaving it alone other parts. This better inspires the imagination. As a child I loved (and still do) fairy stories. There is one here I thinkā€¦ Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame necessary.
