Song of April is a 36x48x1.5 inches large original oil painting on canvas of a spring inspired abstract landscape. This painting was made in April in England after a wander through fields and hills in Sussex when the pink and white blossom was out and the bluebells were blooming in the woodland and forests. It was a hot day and I came across a young Roe deer watching me from the other side of the Rother river bank near Bodiam castle. My eyesight is blurry and that makes it easier for me to paint in a slightly impressionistic style. This painting reflects my memory of this lovely day with the pinks, lilacs, greens, yellows and whites of trees and wildflowers I saw walking along the river. April is my favourite month as it seems to be the one most full of the energy of nature. You can feel the birds and animals and plants and trees all busily enjoying spring. The painting shows a glimpse from under trees on the left across a small river that leads towards hazy trees further along the valley. In the centre on the opposite bank is a small deer delicately nosing around in the flowers as she did just before she spotted me... Dedicated to all fellow walkers and lovers of the UK countryside. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed. -

30x40x1.5 inches original oil painting of a spellbound white owl in a summer meadow. It was painted because I dream of seeing an owl in the wild but have never managed it so decided to create one by magic instead. A shaft of golden light beams vertically upwards highlighting a white barn owl in its path. Owls have a way of moving silently over their landscapes and appearing and disappearing very quickly. The owl looks beautiful and ghostly against a wall of deep blue green trees and below her you can see red and yellow wildflowers and lush green grass with summer light shining through the gaps in the trees behind the the meadow. This painting has a fairy story feel to it though I don't know what the story is. I just wanted a painting that had some drama that celebrates the richness of summer meadow. It was painted after a walk I tool near Groombridge in Sussex where I found a row of conifers with foxgloves and wildflowers outlined against them. Painted on deep edge canvas painted a dark blue green - no frame needed, ready to hang. -
Spellbound Summer is a 30x30inches original oil painting on canvas of a white owl flying over a summer meadow full of wildflowers. The owl is seen against deep green and blue trees and appears to be flying through a gold transparent veil as she brings a touch of magic to the meadow. There is magic in nature and when I walk through a summer field especially, I see abundant life and activity. A summer field is nature’s internet - wherever you look something is trying to be noticed. That exuberance is what inspired this painting. The painting style is semi abstract as I have blurred the edges and added details towards the centre to give an idea of zooming into the landscape. I like this effect as it is like a snapshot of a memory with some emotions added and fits with my desire to make paintings like little windows that you can escape to whenever you need to! Dedicated to all the ramblers and dog owners I meet when out walking. Painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, no frame needed. I made two short videos of the creation of this painting which you can see here: https://youtu.be/ENfm_GWU7wU and https://youtu.be/Jm-Jpa2N2bs
