Zierikzee - 05-10-17 An impressionistic view on Zierikzee, where I came for the first time. I wanted to capture the atmospheric depth while on the other hand I did not want to capture a lot of detalis. The trees for example I rendered only slightly while the stress is put on the water reflections. Roundism - 08-10-17 In this drawing I tried to play with triangles, circles and rectangulars forming the model posture. Next to this the laws of singularity as described earlier apply just very nicely. As a result diagonals verticals and horizontals are in perfect harmony together with a maximum tonal bandwith spread throughout the paper in a diagonal shape. ACANTHUS - basswood, 41 x 22 x 14 cm - 2018 The sculpture is named "Acanthus". It takes its appellation from a tall flower that grows in the mediterranean region. You can consider this piece as the hard job of a crazy woodworm. Made with basswood, with a smooth layer of wax on. The base is in swiss stone pine wood. ITALIAN VERSION La scultura è chiamata "Acanthus". Prende nome da un fiore ad alto fusto che cresce nella regione mediterranea. Questo pezzo è prodotto dal duro lavoro del tarlo matto. Realizzato in legno di tiglio, con un leggero velo di cera come rifinitua. La base è in cirmolo. -
ACTINIDIA - maple wood, 22 x 37 x 10 cm - 2018 The sculpture is named "Actinidia". It takes its appellation from the plant that originates kiwifruit. The crazy woodworm took its inspiration from the section of a sweet kiwi. Made with maple wood, with a smooth layer of wax on. The base is in mahogany. ITALIAN VERSION La scultura è chiamata "Actinidia". Prende nome dalla pianta che origina il kiwi. Il tarlo matto ha avuto la sua ispirazione dalla sezione di un dolce kiwi. Realizzato in legno di acero, con un leggero strato di cera come rifinitura. La base è in mogano. -
NAVEL, oak wood burl, 31 x 26 x 20, 2018 The sculpture is named "Navel". The crazy woodworm got inspired by twins orange "navel" when a little orange grows inside a bigger one, so the sculpture shows in its section a head inside a bigger head. It is made of oak burl, its natural cracks are fixed by inlaid with mahogany pieces, like stitches of a surgery scar; finished with a layer of wax. The base is in made by two pieces of mahogany. ITALIAN VERSION La scultura è chiamata "Navel". Il tarlo pazzo prende ispirazione dalle arance gemelle "navel" dove una piccola arancia cresce all'interno di una più grande, così la scultura presenta una testa dentro a una testa più grande. Realizzata in radica di quercia; le naturali fenditure del legno sono fissate tramite intaglio con pezzi di mogano; finito con un velo di cera. La base è formata da due pezzi di mogano.
