• Memory of Spring is a 40x40x1.5 inches large semi abstract oil painting of an English bluebell wood in springtime. It was inspired by the bluebells, wildflowers and pink blossom you see in patches of woodland around Sussex in April and May every year. Although it is contemporary in painting style, it still hints quite well at the flowers and yellow green saplings and trees of spring. It was painted from memory, as most of my landscapes are, as that tends to distill the composition and details right down to simplicities making the feeling of the painting and the magical element of forests and trees more prevalent than the botanical details. I love the fairy tale ancient landscapes of England and the magic quality you can find in forest clearings and fields and I never tire of trying to capture this fascination in the paintings that I make. The painting has white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1vLQRtLpnE

  • This was painted in oils on linen from a real life set up under controlled lighting. A still life painting of this beautiful flower set in a Bakelite jug with cork and apple. Painted in the classical manner achieved by an accurate under drawing and the layering of translucent glazes to give a quality photo realism finish. The quality frame with silver leaf on wood is included in the price and is ready to hang.

  • Lilacs are a special blossom, with integrity,  for they are honest with their beauty.  I love their colour, their form and, of course, their perfume.  I painted them in Andalucia Spain very recently and to do them full justice they are framed in a museum quality moulding, as shown in the frame detail.  This is one of my favourite  oil paintings, simply called 'Lilacs of Andalucia' and and would  need a very special place to hang. Painted in oils on wood panel and framed in a high quality moulding of black wood with an inner silver slip. Ready to hang
