Influence of pictures on the person

In our time it is considered almost a sign of a good tone to have in the house, real author's oil paintings, and not cheap and poorly (or even badly) conveying the color and texture of the original lithograph.

The fact that artistic images, especially paintings, have an energy impact on a person and his condition has been known for a long time.

The picture radiates the total energy, which in turn affects our subconscious. This naturally entails a change in our reactions and actions. The total energy consists of the color scale of the picture, directly the picture itself, as well as the energy invested by the artist in the picture. Much depends on the color scheme of the picture. As you know, a person reacts very sharply to different colors. Here it is necessary to represent the connection of the basic colors and emotional state of a person. Accordingly, if the picture is dominated by more than any specific color, then it exerts a greater influence on the person. Therefore, it is better to choose pictures of light shades, so that when watching such an image it becomes easy and free at once. Scientists and psychologists have long proved that the pictures are capable of lifting mood, calming and even healing.

Spirit of May is 40x40x1.5 inches art nouveau contemporary landscape painting of a white spectral deer in a wildflower meadow. The painting was made after a walk near Wadhurst in Sussex and shows a very colourful array of wildflowers in an abstract, art nouveau, expressionist style. It shows a path view through a meadow in May leading towards hazy summer trees in the background. A transparent white deer stands in the foreground blending into his landscape as deer tend to do in real life. The intention I had on painting this landscape was to capture my impression of a beautiful area of Sussex and a beautiful season. I am always thrilled by the sights and scents of England in May and I try to share these moments in my paintings. Although this has many colours in it, the painting is still mostly green with overlapping veils and colours that hint of how fleeting the month of May is. It is painted on wide edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang, no frame needed.

  • Seeing Beyond

    £1,500.00
Seeing Beyond is 48x36x1.5 inches large oil on canvas painting, semi abstract art nouveau style dreamscape. The painting shows a view through a golden curtain where the gap is forming a distorted number eight or infinity symbol. Through this shape there is a white stag looking out over a lake with a waterfall and blossom trees all around him. Up in the tree on the left is a white raven. The gold curtain is transparent so you can see this other world through it. I have always believed in other universes and other realities and this is a painting that tries to show this in an aesthetically pleasing way (I hope). The white stag and the white raven are there to add a little a mystery and have their own story to tell. I am particularly happy with the change in colours between the gold curtain which is quite warm and colder colours of the landscape beyond as it adds another aspect again to a slightly strange fairy tale type painting. It is painted on deep edge canvas, white edges, ready to hang. https://youtu.be/LkZdPykA32Q

  • Lilacs are a special blossom, with integrity,  for they are honest with their beauty.  I love their colour, their form and, of course, their perfume.  I painted them in Andalucia Spain very recently and to do them full justice they are framed in a museum quality moulding, as shown in the frame detail.  This is one of my favourite  oil paintings, simply called 'Lilacs of Andalucia' and and would  need a very special place to hang. Painted in oils on wood panel and framed in a high quality moulding of black wood with an inner silver slip. Ready to hang

  • Prints of Poppies at Argenteuil were everywhere in the early 70's...my first girlfriends' parents had one on the living room wall of their council house in Chester...I loved it but she thought it was kitsch...In retrospect I think it was popular because it's so beautiful and evocative...it always makes me feel free and I felt free here...painting my first water colour for 47 years! They had a Chinese Girl by Tretchikoff too and she was even more ashamed of that..I wander where she is now...I also love Monet for his courageous stand in the Dreyfus Affair...at a time when antisemitism is on the rise we need to remember when artists took stands https://www.jewishpress.com/sections/features/features-on-jewish-world/monet-dreyfus-and-the-end-of-impressionism/2015/12/17/
